Executive Director Don Wright Speaks To The Province Newspaper About “Sextortion”

“Sextortion” may be an unfamiliar term to many people out there but due to the number of cases brought forward by many victims of this phenomenon, the term is now getting widespread attention. Sextortion is a form of exploitation that involves the threat of releasing intimate videos or images that are shared online in exchange for money.

The Richmond RCMP has reported five cases that were brought to their attention last year, three of the victims are men. They suspect that there are more cases which goes unreported due to the sensitivity surrounding the issue.
