Male Survivors: Preparing The Way For Meaningful Intervention

Once annually, Mason Shell (MCP, RCC), Executive Director, Education Coordinator, and clinician for the B.C. Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse, provides training.
This two-day workshop aims to support and validate those who have encountered, or who expect to encounter, adult males with sexual or domestic abuse in their backgrounds.
It will equip participants with knowledge on how to provide initial support that is trauma-informed, empowering, and sensitive, but also playful and creative, as well as how to make referrals as appropriate. Trauma is trauma regardless of gender identity, so it is important to consider that much of the information applies to survivors living with trauma more generally, which Mason is passionate about discussing and developing.
*Survivors are welcome to attend, though please keep in mind that the material can be heavy and intense*
